Sarah Champion, Member of Parliament for Rotherham, has welcomed the Government announcement that it is to adopt her recommendations for addressing Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. 

Sarah has campaigned to improve child protection and to bring to justice perpetrators of Child Sexual Exploitation throughout her Parliamentary career. She has been a leading voice in the fight to end CSE and has previously secured significant legislative change to better protect children. 

Sarah Champion, MP for Rotherham, has been campaigning on child protection for over a decade.

“Child sexual abuse is endemic in the UK and needs to be recognised as a national priority. It is clear that the public distrusts governments and authorities when it comes to preventing and prosecuting child abuse, especially child sexual exploitation. The statistics on these crimes show the scale of the problem; the high level of public concern and mistrust only emphasises why addressing all forms of child abuse must be a government priority.

Sarah Champion, Labour MP for Rotherham, relaunched her ‘Buy British Bill’ in Parliament today. In the previous Parliament, the Bill reached Second Reading, when it was stopped by the General Election.

The Bill aims to create a cultural change within Government so that it awards more public contracts to British business, including British farmers, manufacturers and SMEs.
