Following the revelations revealed by Professor Alexis Jay's report in Rotherham last week, Sarah Champion MP once again stood up for victims today, calling on the government to keep make sure vital services are fully funded. Speaking in Parliament, Sarah Champion appealed directly to the Chancellor to make a commitment to secure additional funding for child protection, both in Rotherham and nationally.

During the urgent question session with Theresa May, Rotherham's MP spoke of her anger at the authorities care failures and asked for the Home Secretary's to work with her to ensure that abusers still on the streets are brought to justice and victims get the support previously denied to them.

Sarah Champion MP later met Professor Alexis Jay, author of the report, to discuss the steps needed locally and nationally to prevent and support victims of this vile crime.
