Security for Place of Worship
I was a signatory this week to a letter to the Home Secretary regarding funding for security at places of worship.
The appalling terrorist attack in Christchurch has understandably left many Muslims concerned about security, particularly as we approach Ramadan.
I was pleased that the Home Secretary has announced additional funding for security at places of worship. It is vital that this funding is released as a matter of urgency and that applications are kept as simple and as clear as possible.

The Government must invest more money in victims’ services alongside new Domestic Abuse bill, Sarah Champion MP says.
Sarah Champion, MP for Rotherham, has responded to the publication of the Government’s draft Domestic Abuse Bill. The bill includes several measures including defining economic abuse as a form of domestic abuse for the first time, new protection orders to mandate perpetrator’s to take part in rehabilitation programmes and the creation of a Domestic Abuse Commissioner.
