Sarah Champion MP, Shadow Minister for Preventing Abuse and Domestic Violence, has written to the Government demanding they take action over the planned UK 'meet-ups' of pro-rape neo-masculine group Return of Kings. The group, led by Daryush 'Roosh' Valiazadeh, who has called for the legalisation of rape on private property, have planned 'tribal meetings' in 43 countriesincluding eight UK cities, for 6th February. Meetings are planned in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Shrewsbury.

The group, who believe in a male dominated world, have published articles that call on women to be banned from voting, described a woman's value as dependent on her "fertility and beauty", and that women with eating disorders make the best girlfriends.

Sarah Champion MP, Shadow Minister Preventing Abuse and Domestic Violence, said:

Rape of women has increased by 41 per cent in the last year. I'm appalled that the Government are sitting idly by whilst a group who believe women are pieces of meat without any rights are allowed to spread their poisonous ideology in the UK.

How can the Government allow disgusting 'meet-ups' led by a man and a group that have promoted rape to take place in the UK at a time when sex crimes against women are going through the roof?

The Government need to send a strong message that promoting violence against women and girls is not acceptable in the UK and should be treated as another other hate crime, with zero tolerance.
