Safe in Rotherham (SIR) is a safety scheme to help vulnerable adults feel safe when they are out and about in the Rotherham area.

The SIR scheme, is an initiative of the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council inpartnership with others, including the Police, Fire Service and other organisations.

A vulnerable adult who may feel threatened or unsafe, who may feel ill or need help, can approach a building displaying the Safe in Rotherham logo. The person shows staff a SIR key ring or card that they carry, on which there are up to 3 contact telephone numbers. Staff then contact one of the numbers and advise the carer or family member what has happened.

If you would like further information about the scheme or how can you help, you contact SIR through email sir@rotherham.gov.uk or contacting 01709 302800
